Frank Guglielmelli was so sleep deprived he was falling asleep at the wheel. Cars would be honking, and away I would go. That's kind of scary and then I realized there's a problem, says frank.
53 year old Frank says he felt as though he was living life in a fog, struggling to get through the day, barely able to keep his eyes opened. After visiting his doctor, he was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Frank says he had no clue that he had a sleep disorder. He attributed his decreased energy level and fatigue to weight gain and just a part of getting older.
“People can have sleep disorders that they really aren’t aware that they have. The biggest problem is that most people are not getting enough sleep. And, there has been recently some studies that say the average American is getting about 6 ½ hours a sleep per night which is definitely below the recommended limit,” says Dr. Ilene Rosen of the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania, Division of Sleep Medicine.

Sinusitis sufferer, Norman Wiesenfeld, says that living with chronic sinus pain stole every ounce of his energy. “I was trying to go to sleep and had coughing attacks every night and I couldn’t sleep.”
Having no success with a multitude of different over-the-counter medications and other prescription drugs, Norman opted for sinuplasty, a revolutionary treatment for sinusitis.
“It is different than traditional endoscopic sinus surgery that we have been using for the past fifteen or twenty years, this is non invasive and we use it as a catheter similar to the catheter that we use for patients to open up clogged arteries in their heart, we are going to use it to open up clogged sinuses, so we open up those passageways with a balloon that we inflate under anesthesia,” explains Dr. B. Todd Schaeffer of North Shore University Hospital.

Concern about the case of the highly resistant aids strain has not abated. In fact, there are growing numbers of reports around the country that this might not be the only case.
Still, there are many questions and unresolved issues.
The first case in New York is of a man, whose identity is being withheld, is in his mid-40s and admitted to taking part in unprotected anal intercourse with multiple…literally hundreds of sex partners, often times while high on crystal methamphetamine. Taking a drug used for Alzheimer’s disease may help deal with the memory loss experienced by people with multiple sclerosis, according to a study published in the medical journal Neurology.
The finding could help the large percentage, nearly fifty percent of MS patients, who suffer from cognitive problems.
