The first experimental vaccine against the aids virus has been approved for test among humans. However, it combats the A strain of the virus which predominates only in Africa.

Researchers found that 5% of prostitutes in Nairobi developed a resistance in the aids virus. Their bodies actually boosted levels of the T-Cell production. These are the cells which are usually destroyed by the aids. Normally, once immune system attacks the aids virus initially too slowly leading to never recovered immune impairments. Researchers have combined a piece of the aids virus with a killed virus that the body readily recognizes and destroys making it a potentially effective therapy. Interestingly, immunity soon wore off when prostitutes stopped working. Prompting a speculation that booster shot maybe required to keep such a variety of the aids virus at bay.

Unfortunately, no equivalent vaccine is currently possible with the strains of the aids virus that dominate Europe and the United States.
